Big thanks from Mr and Mrs Merritt!

Today we received this beautiful letter from Kyle and Kirby who recently married at our newest venue The Rocks, Yandina.  First Class Functions provided the exclusive wedding coordination of their wedding including the catering and all of the styling of the ceremony and reception.

THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for what we will always remember as one of the best days of our lives.   Although a few things  didn’t go to plan on the day but from what I have heard you guys made it seem like it was how things were meant to run all along.  

Annie, the styling was simply amazing and exceeded all my expectations.  It was relaxed and carefree at the same time as being so classy and romantic.  It’s like you took it right out of my head and bought it to life.  The venue is fantastic but it’s your touches that truly made it so spectacular.  During the planning nothing was too big or too small, even when I asked you if we could do an extra couple of things only days beforehand it was never a problem.  You put me at ease on a number of occasions and I can honestly say I didn’t even give the venue set up a 2nd thought when we were getting ready on the day, I trusted you completely. 

John, thank you so, so much for running the show at the reception.  You were there whenever I had a question before I even knew I did!! The bus debacle put us behind schedule but you and the staff just took it in your stride and everything ran like clockwork (just later than originally planned)!  The staff at the reception were INCREDIBLE, a number of our guests have specifically mentioned how great they were.  Please pass on our most sincere thanks to them. A special big thank you for our margaritas, it was a great, little sentimental reminder of the night we met.  And after organising the cider, I totally forgot about it and didn’t have any!! I hope someone else drank it!

The food.  Oh. My. Goodness.  The food was, simply put, divine.  My only regret being I didn’t make myself eat more!! The mini burgers, that I was sceptical about, were the biggest hit.  One of my friends claims she ate 8 of them!  Everything was of the highest quality and there was so much to go around.  That was probably my main concern with a cocktail reception but pretty much everyone I’ve spoken to since has said they tried all the canapés & mini mains.

The old cliché about your own wedding day going by in a flash is certainly based on fact; it seemed to be over before it barely began! Every time we think back to the day we recall something else and get excited all over again! 

I can’t put down in words how perfect our wedding turned out for us & despite the few (not so minor) hiccups nothing could ruin it for us on the day, and both of you and your staff played an integral part in ensuring that.  Thank you for making it everything we dreamed of and more.

The importance of a wedding coordinator

So if something unforeseen happens on your big day, who do you trust to be able to deal with the situation in a practical and calm way, and be able to come up with a solution to save the day?  Even the most level headed family member or friend is bound to feel extremely stressed and will be personally affected if something does go wrong and they don’t know how to fix it.  This is where a wedding coordinator is worth his or her weight in gold!  Best case scenario, they will be there to play your music, give your guests instructions, liaise with your service providers and generally just be there for you to make sure everything runs smoothly.  But when things hit the fan, your wedding coordinator will try and resolve things discreetly behind the scenes, whilst you and your guests enjoy your special day.

Ceremony Co-ordination

Our experienced coordinator will ensure the smooth running of your wedding ceremony. This can often be a daunting time for the Bride and her attendants: arriving at the ceremony knowing that all eyes are on them.  This package includes

– Oversee the ceremony set up
– Greet and seat your family and guests
– Liaise with the celebrant
– Cue musicians or play music
– Once you and your attendants have arrive your gowns and flowers are inspected. 
– Assist bridal party with their entrance.
– Serve refreshments before and after the ceremony
– Escort your guests to either the reception or boat cruise.

Our coordinator will always have their emergency bridal kit on hand for any of those last minute emergencies.

Inspiration Package

This new package has been created after constant requests from our clientele.  Our start-up package is a comprehensive guide to selecting the most suitable ceremony and reception venue and service professionals for your wedding.  This package includes:

– A 2 hour consultation with our Senior Coordinator and stylist will guarantee that you are on steady ground and have a clear and exciting plan for your wedding.
– A full document with detailed information and maps so that you can start out with confidence when planning and booking services for your wedding. Portfolio can include:

          * an outline of your wedding plan
          * wedding day timetable
          * MC guide
          * invitation wording
* wedding checklist.

Mini Co-ordination Package

This unique package is suited to the busy couple that would like to organize some of the services themselves, but would like the constant guidance of a wedding planner to oversee the coordination of their special  day. Package includes:

– Booking of up to 4-5 services and confirmation of all requirements for these services prior to the wedding.
– Bespoke inspiration board for your wedding styling
– A full document with detailed information and maps so that you can start out with confidence when planning and booking services for your wedding. Portfolio can include:

          * invitation wording
* wedding checklist

Our ‘Platinum Package’ is best suited to clients that would like to leave the hard work to a professional. This package includes:

– Full booking of all services for the wedding and includes obtaining quotes, written confirmation & written approval for all services for your wedding.
– Full styling of the event which can begin with the invitations and stationery and carries through the entire wedding including flowers, ceremony and reception decoration and other stylish touches.
– All meetings, correspondence, wedding day timetable (forwarded on to all relevant services) speech guide, invitation wording and maps, guest accommodation guides and booking of all meetings and trials.
– Co-coordinator for the wedding day to oversee delivery of flowers, ceremony and Guest arrival at reception.

Full Co-ordination of wedding – Marquee Option

First Class Functions specialise in the complete co-ordination and management of marquee events in Noosa and the Sunshine Coast.

Our services begin with the selection of the exact size marquee and hire equipment best suited to your requirements and site. We then co-ordinate all aspects of the event including site inspections, marquee erection, flooring, lighting, tables, chairs, hire equipment and cold rooms etc.  This package also includes:

Something blue…

Congratulations to Megan and Cameron!
The lovely couple were married at St Andrew’s Church on 6th December 2013.

On a glorious Friday afternoon, friends and family gathered at the St Andrew’s Church to witness the pair exchange their vows.  The First Class Functions floral team created a truly spectacular entrance at the church with an arrangement of woven hearts and white roses on stone pedestals  either side of the door and an incredible flower garland of white flowers and vine across the top.  Inside the church, more white flowers filled beautiful urns and the church décor was beautifully finished off with white, organza pew bows.

The Bride’s bouquet was a delicate posy of white Peonies and David Austin roses, sculptured into a dome shape and bound with satin ribbon.  The bridesmaids carried equally beautiful posies of white roses with wired phalaenopsis orchids – the white was the perfect accompaniment to the dainty blue dresses.  The First Class Functions florist who built these bouquets was thrilled to be able to use Peonies so late in the season – a flower which she claims is the floral equivalent of dark chocolate!

The stunning floral arrangements were then transported by our team to Ricky’s River Bar and Restaurant for Megan and Cameron’s reception.  Whilst the bridal party bouquets made the perfect statement in the centre of the room on the bridal table, the guest tables were equally beautiful with centrepieces comprising of 3 small vases with a collection of white flowers and clear tea lights along the table. At each place setting, the napkins were adorned with silver satin ribbon and a single, white orchid.  Hundreds of tea lights were scattered around the restaurant to create the most beautiful, romantic lighting.  Outside, the garden was also illuminated with rice paper lanterns on hooks, fairy lights in the garden and a large filigree lantern as a focal point near the jetty.

Tickled Pink in Noosa

 Congratulations to Kasia and Hayden who tied the knot on 19th October 2013!

The couple exchanged their vows under the Pandanus trees at Maison La Plague in front of 80 of their closest family and friends.  The ceremony was styled by First Class Functions and as guests took their seats, white rice paper lanterns and hanging ribbons with pastel flowers swung overhead. A tasteful splash of pink was extended to the décor from the bridesmaid and flower girl dress (how gorgeous is little Matylda?!) through to the bouquets and scattered petals along the aisle.

The celebrations continued at Sails Restaurant, Hastings Street.  Inside, the couple continued with colour scheme with elegant arrangements of pink and white roses placed on a mirror runner and a selection of black and frosted tea lights.  The bridesmaid and bride bouquets took centre stage on the bridal table in tall glass vases, also on a mirror runner and again with a combination of tea lights.  The floral team at First Class Functions created all of the bouquets, the flower girl basket, button holes and corsages in addition to the beautiful table centrepieces.

The décor was kept sleek and simple, but a few personal touches and a little bit of glamour dotted around the room helped to make the night extra special.  Family photographs were beautifully displayed in silver and mirrored frames – a lovely nod to special people in Kasia and Hayden’s life.  A romantic, crystal chandelier illuminated the bridal table and fairy lights were strung on the lawn to extend the party atmosphere outside.  White benches and ottomans allowed guests to “chill out” and survey the party inside, whilst also breathing in the salty, sea air.

Thanks First Class!

We recently received this lovely letter from recent newly weds Brett & Frederieka.   Thank you both for your lovely words – it really made our day!

Fredrieka and myself would like to thank you for everything you did for us. We had an amazing day – everything was fantastic.

The decoration at the beach was beautiful. We were both really happy with everything you did for us. And the room at South Pacific was gorgeous. Very very happy!!

Thanks for being so patient and supportive throughout the whole process. We could not have made it without you.

Also thanks for everyone you recommended. The staff at South Pacific did a great job. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, and Adam could not have been better to deal with. Phill Jackson was awesome. He put everyone at ease and made the very long process of getting all photos taken a really fun experience for all. We can’t wait to the result. The cake from Lee was exactly what we expected. Another good job. The invitations and menus from Lisa were beautiful. The DJ did a good job and everyone danced all night.  All our friends had a fantastic time, as did we.

Thank you so much. We can’t wait to see you in person and thank you some more.
